Bag-in-Case Empty to Bulk Fill -Open Case to Sealed Transport

... covered for debris and device metered.

Multi-Conveyor has designed and built several series of independently powered plastic belt conveyors for bulk fill lines located in various parts of the country for a renowned confectionary manufacturer.

In this job, single lane end-to-end empty lined cases enter the conveyor narrow-side leading with top flaps upright.

The conveyor layout configurations at each location were designed to weave through multiple production lines on each respective shop floor. This particular line called for a horseshoe footprint where cases maneuver through two curves at pre- and post-fill locations.

All of the production facilities called for stainless steel dust covers for additional food contamination protection from debris. The covers split where the filling process takes place then convenes post-fill to the bag twister and case sealing sections. (Note: Product used in this video is for demonstration purposes only.)

Conveyors were equipped with pneumatic actuated case clamp assemblies to meter the single empty case fill area, ensuring case stability during the fill process. Pneumatic actuated case stops hold back upcoming empty boxes on the line prior to the fill area.

Although pneumatic detection sensors are being supplied by others, Multi-Conveyor worked closely with the customer to provide specific components and devices to make it easier for their engineers to integrate.

Additionally, the full case conveyor will be allowed to accumulate product back-to-back based on case rates and case weights identified within conveyor design specifications. Conveyor sections connect utilizing non-powered LBP roller transitions.

These automated systems are commonly requested to increase production by replacing older gravity conveyors where an operator pushes the prepared box thru to the filling area; then, post-fill, once again manually pushes cases to the bag twist and case sealing processes.
